Mott Baseball to open MCCAA season in Detroit
FLINT - The Mott Community College baseball team has completed its spring training games as the team heads into the MCCAA season starting in late March.
The Bears enter the conference season with a record of 6-6 overall. The team is batting .304 with a .436 slugging percentage. Gavin Balius is leading the offense with 17 hits, .395 batting average, 13 RBIs, two triples, seven stolen bases and 15 runs scored, while playing in all 12 games for the Bears.
Quinn Schultz is off to a great start in 2024. Playing in all 12 games, Schultz has 15 hits, four doubles, three triples, three home runs, 11 RBIs, 10 runs scored, and a .349 batting average. Conner Egert has 13 hits, 12 RBIs, and a .342 average, while Charles Chmielewski is averaging .419 with 13 hits, 11 RBIs, 14 runs scored, 11 walks, and a home run.
On the mound, William Case is 2-0 with 15 strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched to lead Mott.
The Bears open the MCCAA season against Henry Ford College at home on March 24 and host Schoolcraft College at the Corner Ballpark in Detroit.
