Bears complete sweep of Chargers with 8-3 win

PIQUA, Ohio - The Mott Community College baseball team completed a sweep of Edison State Community College, taking the final contest of a three-game series on Thursday in Piqua, Ohio. 

The Bears scored seven times in the fifth to take control, and held on for an 8-3 victory. The win moves Mott to 3-8 overall this season. 

Inside the Box Score:

  • Nathan McDonald led the offense with three hits, two runs, an RBI, and two walks. 

  • Luke Trotter and Bryce Neitzel each recorded a hit, a run, and two RBIs. 

  • Ryan Metz, Benjamin Korson, John Lavallier, and Tobias Ransley each recorded a hit. 

  • Three Mott pitchers held the Chargers to three runs on six hits. Dillon Kielian (1-0) earned the win, tossing 1.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits, walking three and striking out one. 

  • Mason Clark got the save (1) in 2.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit.

The Bears open the home portion of the schedule against Grand Rapids Community College at 1 pm on Saturday at the Ernie Myers Baseball Diamond.
