Sweeny, McDonald sweep MCCAA honors for Mott

FLINT - The Mott Community College baseball team swept four games from St. Clair County Community College last week and moved into second place in the MCCAA Eastern Conference standings. 

The Bears also earned a sweep of the MCCAA Eastern Conference weekly awards with Conor Sweeny taking Pitcher of the Week and Nathan McDonald claiming the Player of the Week honor. 

Sweeny appeared in one game tossing five innings, allowing one unearned run in the win. He struck out six and surrendered just three hits. 

McDonald went 5-for 12 in four games, including four home runs. He recorded eight RBIs, adding five runs, three walks, a stolen base, and a 1.417 slugging percentage.
