Haadad tosses no-hitter, Bears close season

FLINT - The 2025 Mott Community College baseball season came to a close over the weekend with the Bears taking three of four from Schoolcraft College. 

After dropping the opener on Thursday, Carson Haadad tossed a 7-inning no-hitter for the Bears in a 3-0 win on the road. Mott finished the season with a doubleheader sweep of the Ocelots winning 9-6 and 10-9.

The Bears finished just one game back of first place in the MCCAA Eastern Conference, narrowly missing the postseason. After an 0-8 start to the season, Mott finished 25-20 overall and 17-8 in the MCCAA.

Thursday, Game One Highlights:

• Reigning MCCAA Player of the Week Nathan McDonald hits a home run, finishing with two RBIs.

• Benjamin Korson added a home run and two RBIs. 

• Luke Trotter went 3-for-4 with a triple.

• Ethan Wills added two hits, a double, three RBIs, and a run scored. 

Thursday, Game Two Highlights:

• Haadad (5-0) held the Ocelots without a hit, tossing a seven-inning no-hitter. He allowed just two walks, while striking out eight. 

• McDonald drove in two runs on two hits, including a double. 

• Ryan Metz added two hits and two runs scored. 

Saturday, Game One Highlights:

• Timothy Geottes had a pair of doubles and three runs scored. 

• Wills added two hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored. 

• Metz, Korson, and McDonald each added two hits. 

• Hayden Vinyard (1-2) earned the win in relief, tossing two scoreless innings and striking out two. 

• Aidan Cassidy (3) earned a save, pitching a scoreless seventh inning. 

Saturday, Game Two Highlights:

• Wills had two hits, two runs, and two RBIs. 

• Malaki Edwards added a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. 

• Mason Clark (1-1) got the relief win, going 1.1 innings, allowing a walk and striking out two. 

• Jack Legree earned his first save of the season.
