Bench leads Bears to 89-66 win over Pioneers
FLINT - The Mott Community College men's basketball team earned its second straight win to start the 2024-25 season, topping Delta College on Wednesday at the Ballenger Field House.
The Bears cruised to a 16-point lead at the half, but the Pioneers cut the deficit to 10 shortly after the break. With eight minutes left, Miles Beard went on a solo 8-0 run to help Mott pull away for an 89-66 victory to move the Bears to 2-0 overall.

Beard came off the bench to score a game-high 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting, adding six made 3-pointers. He added six rebounds.

Kimari Barden recorded a double-double with 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Keyonta Menifield finished with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

Teon Armstrong added seven points and four steals, while Kevin Tiggs Jr. finished with seven points and six rebounds.

The Bears shot 33-of-80 from the field, 11-of-27, and 12-of-14 at the line. Mott had 18 assists to 12 turnovers, while out rebounding the Pioneers 47-40.
