Rod Studaker returned to Mott for the 2022-23 season, this time as the Head Assistant Coach.
Rod was the Head Softball Coach at Mott for eight full seasons before retiring amidst the COVID spring of 2020. His teams won four league titles, three regional crowns and advanced to the National Tournament (Final 16 tournament) three times.

Before coming to Mott, Rod coached 15 varsity high school seasons and his teams won nine league titles, seven district crowns and advanced to the state semi-finals twice.
He was inducted into the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2004 and into the Montrose Community and Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
