Bears open MCCAA schedule with win at Macomb

WARREN, Mich. - The Mott Community College volleyball team opened the MCCAA Eastern Conference schedule with a four-set win on the road over Macomb Community College on Monday. 

The Bears were led by the offense of Courtney Nye, who finished with a .571 hitting percentage. After dropping the opening set, Mott won three straight and cruised in the final set for a 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-12 victory. The win moves Mott to 8-4 overall and 1-0 in the MCCAA. 

Mott Highlights:

• Nye finished with 14 kills on 21 attempts. She added four total blocks. 

• Skylar Cramer continued her strong play at the setter position with 48 assists, 11 digs, and three service aces. 

• Ruby Earl recorded 12 kills, 11 digs, and three aces, while Princess Savage added 10 kills. 

• Chloe Vanwinkle finished with nine kills and nine digs. 

• Montgomery Rotter had a team-high 13 digs, while Chloe Wright and Brooklynn Wilcox added 11 and nine, respectively. 

• The Bears combined for a .201 hitting percentage.
