The Bruin Club of Genesee County
Mission Statement:
Since its inception in 1962 the Bruin Club has contributed nearly $3 million to MCC Athletics. The established goal at MCC is excellence in all fields that includes athletics, which has had a long and highly successful history. The clubs’ support of the college and the athletic department has taken many forms, some of which include:
- Assisting in the purchase of a new volleyball net system,
- Created the Bruin Club weight room in the Ballenger Field house and all the equipment therein,
- a new sound system for the gym, new scoreboards (both indoor and outdoor),
- team uniforms and equipment,
- new sound system for the softball field,
- new sound system for the baseball field, purchased rapsodo technology for both baseball and softball,
- And purchased a 5 year contract for our website.
- They also named the Steve Schmidt Gymnasium, the Ernie Myers Baseball Diamond, the Judge Yeotis and Justus Thigpen Locker Room, and the Bruin Club Weight Room.
The Bruin Club's financial support is instrumental in the success that our Mott Athletics Department has had; however, it is just one form of their support. The intangible support in community engagement, promoting the college and the department, and the general advocating for athletics is an invaluable resource for the College and the Athletics Department.
