DETROIT - The Mott Community College baseball team continued the opening week of the MCCAA season against Schoolcraft College on Monday at The Corner Ballpark in Detroit.
The Bears took over in the fourth inning and cruised to a 17-5 win in six innings to move to 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the MCCAA.
The Ocelots opened the game with a pair of runs in each of the first two innings to build a 4-0 advantage. Mott tied the game with four in the fourth, and pulled away with six in the fifth and seven in the sixth.
Four Bears, Gavin Balius, Ethan Willis, Brennen Vechazone, and Benjamin Korson, each finished with three hits. Quinn Schultz provided a home run and three RBIs, while Max Charlton added a triple and three RBIs.
Peyton Jackson got the win on the mound in relief, tossing four innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits, walking four, and striking out five.
The Bears continue the MCCAA season with a single 9-inning game against Macomb Community College at 2 pm on Tuesday in Warren, Mich.
