Mott runs win streak to 9 with sweep of Muskegon

FLINT, Mich. - The Mott Community College baseball team pushed its season-best win streak to nine games with a sweep against Muskegon Community College on Tuesday in Flint. 

The Bears scored six in the fourth to pull away for an 11-7 win in the opener. In game two, Mott plated eight in the first inning and cruised to a 13-1 victory. The wins push the Bears to 25-15 overall this season. 

Game One Highlights:

• Quinn Schultz finished with two hits, a home run, three RBIs, two runs scored, two stolen bases, and two walks. 

• Max Charlton added two hits, a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored. 

• Gavin Balius had three hits, two runs, and a stolen base.

• Ethan Willis added two hits, a double, two RBIs, two runs scored, a stolen base, and a walk.

• Brennen Vechazone recorded two hits, a double, a run scored, and a stolen base. 

• Dillon Kielian (2-0) earned the win with 3.2 innings, allowing three runs on two hits, walking two and striking out two. 

• Benjamin Korson got the save with two innings pitched and four strikeouts. 

Game Two Highlights:

• Schultz recorded two hits, two runs, two RBIs, and stole three bases. 

• Conner Egert added a double, three runs scored, one RBI, and two walks. 

• Korson finished with two hits, two runs, and an RBI, while Balius added two hits, a run scored, and a stolen base. 

• Ethan Stewart (1-0) got the win in relief with two innings pitched, allowing one run, on zero hits, and striking out two.

The Bears hit the road for a doubleheader against Jackson College at 2 pm on Thursday.
