Mott takes two from Edison State to open series

PIQUA, Ohio - The Mott Community College baseball team earned its first wins of the season with a doubleheader sweep of Edison State Community College on Wednesday in Piqua, Ohio. 

The Bears scored 35 runs in 12 total innings, rolling to an 18 -2 in game one and a 17-8 victory in the finale. The wins move Mott to 2-8 overall this season. 

Game One Inside the Box Score:

• Luke Trotter went 4-for-4 with a triple, a home run, four RBIs, two runs scored, and a walk.

• Bryce Neitzel also went 4-for-4 with a home run. He scored four times and added an RBI.

• Nathan McDonald drove in seven runs on three doubles, while scoring three runs. 

• Benjamin Korson added a home run, finishing with two hits, four RBIs, two runs, and a walk. 

• Ryan Metz and Luke Dupuis each scored three runs. 

• Jack Legree (1-1) earned the win on the mound after starting and tossing four scoreless innings. He allowed three hits and walked one. 

Game One Inside the Box Score:

• Luke Trotter went 3-for-3 with a home run and a triple. He drove in four runs and scored five times with a walk. 

• Eagan Demers added two hits, including a double. He drove in five runs and scored once. 

• Korson added two doubles, two runs, and a walk, while Neitzel finished with two hits, including a double, while scoring three and driving in one. 

• Tobias Ransley recorded a hit, two RBIs, and two walks. 

• Tucker Webb (1-1) got the win in relief, going three scoreless innings. He held the Chargers hitless, while walking one and striking out two.
