Bears hold off Ocelots for 10-inning win
LIVONIA, Mich. - The Mott Community College baseball team stayed hot with another MCCAA win, topping Schoolcraft College on Thursday in Livonia, Mich.
The Bears trailed for most of the contest before scoring four in the eighth to go up 6-3. The Ocelots tied the game in the bottom of the ninth to send the contest to extras. Timothy Geottes came through for Mott with a two-run single to put his team back in the lead in the 10th.
The Bears closed out the win with a game-ending 6-4-3 double play and escaped victorious 8-7. The win moved Mott to 8-9 overall and 3-1 in the MCCAA. After a sluggish start to the season, the Bears have won three straight and eight of their last nine games.

Geottes got the game-winning hit, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs, adding a walk.

Malaki Edwards added two hits, two runs, and two RBIs.

Ryan Metz blasted a home run for the Bears.

Benjamin Korson added a double and two runs scored, while Nathan McDonald scored twice and had a pair of steals.

Conor Sweeny got the start and tossed five innings, allowing three runs, one earned, on two hits, walking three and striking out five.

Cole Schmidt (2-0) got the win in relief. He pitched the final two innings, allowing one run on three hits, walking three and striking out one.
