Bio
Shaquille Smith is entering his first season as an assistant coach with the Mott program. Shaq is a Flint native who graduated from Northern High School. He was recruited by Coach Schmidt, and competed for two season's for the Bears. In Shaq's freshman year (2011/2012) the Bears went 35-1 and won the schools 4th NJCAA National Championship. After his sophomore year, Shaq continued his academic and playing career at Defiance College in Ohio. He currently works at New Standard Academy in Flint and assists the basketball program.
Coach Schmidt - "Shaq is fitting right in with our program. He is familiar with how we do things, and brings in a lot of experience in player development. I am happy to have him back with the Bear program working alongside Kevin Tiggs and me. He will be able to continue his coaching at the highschool level, as well as continue the great work that he does with his youth program."
