Mott runs win streak to 6 with sweep of SC4

FLINT - The Mott Community College softball team kept rolling with a third straight doubleheader sweep, topping St. Clair County Community College at home on Sunday. 

The Bears squeaked out a 2-0 win on a game-winning hit from Khloe Williams in the opener. The Mott bats came to life in the finale for 14 total hits and a 10-4 victory. The results pushed the Mott win streak to six games and the team's record to 19-7 overall and 11-1 in the MCCAA. 

Game One Highlights:

• Maggie Boehm continued her strong pitching, tossing a complete game shutout. She pitched seven innings, allowing three hits, three walks, and struck out five. 

• Williams provided all of the scoring with a two-run single in the sixth. 

• Taryn Murphy and Heaven Withers each had two hits, while Claire Ouellette added a double. 

Game Two Highlights:

• Cassie Sylvester went 3-for-4 at the plate, adding two runs scored and an RBI.

• Williams added two hits, three RBIs, and a run.

• Murphy had two hits and a triple, while Ouellette added two hits and a double. 

• Withers finished with a triple, two RBIs, and a run scored.

• Amya Brown added two hits.

• Boehm tossed her second complete game of the day. She finished with five strikeouts and two walks, allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits in seven innings.
