Bears win four straight in Florida
CLERMONT, Fla. - The Mott Community College softball team has opened the 2025 season with eight games since Thursday in Winter Haven, Fla.
After opening the season with a 15-11 win over Iowa Lakes Community College, the Bears lost their next three. Mott rebounded over the weekend and took four straight games heading into a day off on Tuesday.
With five games remaining on the schedule for the Florida trip, the Bears are 5-3 to start the season.

Keira McGarvie is batting .542 in 24 ABs. She has 13 hits, three doubles, and a home run, while driving in nine, with three walks and three stolen bases.

Heaven Helkowski has a .481 average with 27 ABs, 13 hits, 12 runs scored, and eight stolen bases.

Alexis Hemker has nine hits in 21 ABs, with five RBIs, 10 runs scored, and three stolen bases.

Josie Spencer has seven hits, including two doubles and two triples.

Emma Benner is batting .364 with a double and a home run. She has eight RBIs.

On the mound, Arika Hines has six appearances with a 2-1 record. She has a 2.33 ERA with two complete games, 30 innings pitched and 38 strikeouts. Hines is batting .360 and has four steals.

Maggie Boehm is 3-1 with a 4.13 ERA in 20.1 innings. She has 36 Ks and a complete game.
The Bears return to action against Triton College at 9 am on Wednesday in Clermont, Fla.
