LIVONIA, Mich. - The Mott Community College softball team extended its win streak to 11 games with a doubleheader sweep over Schoolcraft College on Sunday in Livonia, Mich.
The Bears broke open a low-scoring contest with six runs in the sixth in the opener for a 7-2 win. Mott jumped in front with five in the third and six in the fourth, cruising to a 12-4 win in game two. The sweep moved Mott to 20-5 overall and 13-1 in the MCCAA.
NOTE: The run by Schoolcraft in the first inning of game one snapped a 17-inning scoreless streak for Mott pitching.
Game One Highlights:

Josie Spencer recorded two hits, two RBIs, one run, and a walk.

Reigning MCCAA Player/Pitcher of the Week Arika Hines added two hits and two RBIs.

Carley Hoover had two hits, while Khloe Williams added a hit, one RBI, two runs, and a walk.

Hines (10-1) tossed a complete game for the win. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits, walking two and striking out 11.
Game Two Highlights:

Keira McGarvie went 3-for-5 with a double, four RBIs, and one run.

Williams was 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBIs, and one run.

Emma Benner added a home run.

Maggie Boehm (10-3) pitched the complete game, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits, walking three and striking out eight.
