FLINT - The Mott Community College softball team stepped out of MCCAA Eastern Conference play to take on Western Conference leading Lansing Community College in a doubleheader on Wednesday in Flint.
The Stars shutout Mott 5-0 in the opening game and took an early four-run lead in game two. The Bears rallied and held on for an 8-5 win to secure a split. Mott moved to 26-7 overall this season.
Game One Highlights:

Alexis Hemker recorded a double.

Cassie Sylvester, Emma Benner, and Josie Spencer each added a hit.

Arika Hines (11-2) took the loss, tossing all seven innings. She allowed five runs, four earned, on eight hits, while walking two and striking out three.
Game Two Highlights:

Keira McGarvie recorded three hits, three RBIs, one steal, and two runs scored.

Benner and Carley Hoover each had two hits and two RBIs.

Heaven Helkowski had two hits and two runs scored.

Maggie Boehm (14-4) pitched the complete game, going seven innings. She allowed five runs on 10 hits, walking two and striking out five.
