FLINT - Mott Community College softball was honored with numerous postseason awards as the team is preparing for the NJCAA DII World Series next week. 

The MCCAA/Region XII announced its postseason honors this week, with several Bears taking home top honors. The honors were highlighted by Arika Hines being named the MCCAA Eastern Conference Player and Freshman of the Year. 

In addition to Hines, Maggie Boehm, Heaven Helkowski, Keira McGarvie, and Emma Benner were named to the All-MCCAA Team, while Terry Warner earned District and Eastern Conference Coach of the Year accolades. 

Mott Award Winners:

  • Arika Hines - Region XII All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference First Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference All-Freshman Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference Player of the Year, MCCAA Eastern Conference Freshman of the Year.

  • Maggie Boehm - Region XII All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference First Team.

  • Heaven Helkowski - Region XII All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference First Team.

  • Keira McGarvie - Region XII All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference First Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference All-Freshman Team.

  • Emma Benner - All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA Eastern Conference First Team.

  • Cassie Sylvester - MCCAA Eastern Conference Second Team.

  • Josie Spencer- MCCAA Eastern Conference Second Team.

  • Khloe Williams - MCCAA Eastern Conference Second Team.

  • Terry Warner - Great Lakes District A Coach of the Year, MCCAA Eastern Conference Coach of the Year.

The Bears open the NJCAA Division II World Series as the No. 20 seed against No. 13 seed Illinois Central College at 12 PM ET on Monday in Oxford, Ala.
