OXFORD, Ala. - The 2025 season came to a close for the Mott Community College Softball team with a late loss to Pima Community College at the NJCAA DII World Series on Wednesday at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala.
The Bears jumped out to a first-inning lead with an RBI from Emma Benner, who homered to drive in two in the third to put Mott up 3-1. The Aztecs scored five unanswered, including three in the seventh to win the elimination game 6-3.
Benner finished with two hits, three RBIs, and a run scored. Eva Opper and Arika Hines each added two hits. Hines (18-6) took the loss on the mound, allowing six runs on 11 hits, while walking four and striking out seven in seven innings.
The Bears closed the season with a record of 40-11, winning the MCCAA Eastern Conference and the Great Lakes District A titles.
