Mott splits two at SC4 Quad

PORT HURON, Mich. - The Mott Community College volleyball team played two at the SC4 Quad on Wednesday in Port Huron, Mich. 

The Bears dropped the first match in a close, four-set contest, 3-1 (15-25, 25-17, 31-29, 25-20) to Owens Community College. Mott answered in the second match of the day with a 3-1 (22-25, 2514, 25-16, 25-23) win over Lake Michigan College. 

The split moves Mott to 3-3 overall this season. 

Highlights vs. Owens: 

• Ruby Earl led the offense with 21 kills and .275 kill percentage. She added 14 digs and two service aces. 

• Montgomery Rotter added seven kills and 11 digs, while Princess Savage recorded six kills. 

• Skylar Cramer finished with 41 assists and 11 digs. 

• Brooklyn Wilcox had a team-high 16 digs, while Chloe Vanwinkle and Tessa Szamiel added 11 and 10 digs, respectively.

Highlights vs. Lake Michigan:

• Earl added another 16 kills, while Rotter added 13 kills, 10 digs, and three service aces. 

• Chloe Wright finished with 14 digs and three service aces. 

• Cramer orchestrated the offense with 47 assists, adding a team-high 18 digs. 

• Vanwinkle recorded 10 kills and 17 digs, while Savage chipped in with six kills.

The Bears travel to the Owens Invitational for four matches this weekend, starting against Vincennes University at 10 am on Friday in Perrysburg, Ohio.
