Bio

Nick McCutcheon was hired as the Sports Information Coordinator in February 2024. He is the primary contact for athletic communications at Mott CC.

Prior to joining Mott, McCutcheon served as the Assitant Athletic Director for Communications for two years at NCAA DII and GLIAC member Saginaw Valley State University. Prior to SVSU, he served as the Sports Information Director at the University of Michigan-Dearborn from 2016-2020 and the same role for Dakota Wesleyan University from 2014-2016. Currently, he is a Implementation Project Manager with PrestoSports. 

During his time at UM-Dearborn, McCutcheon helped build one of the top sports information departments in the NAIA, garnering numerous national awards for graphic design, social media engagement, website design, and writing. He was named the 2020 Gary Spitler Excellence in Publications Award winner, an honor given annually to one NAIA institution based on accomplishments across numerous disciplines in marketing, graphic design, and writing.

In 2020, McCutcheon earned 12 top-10 awards in the annual NAIA-SIDA Publications Contest, bringing his career total to 44 top-10 finishes. He also was named a UM-Dearborn Mentor of the Year for his work with the university's internship program. UM-Dearborn honored McCutcheon with the annual Department of Athletics & Recreation Acclaimed Staff Award for 2016-17.

Prior to joining UM-Dearborn, McCutcheon began his career in sports information at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D., and served two years as the Sports Information Director for the Tigers.

McCutcheon attended Michigan State University and graduated in 2009 with a Master's Degree in Journalism. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2007. While in college, McCutcheon was a member of the UM-Dearborn lacrosse team. McCutcheon, a native of Southgate, Mich., currently resides in Freeland with his fiancé Allyssa Kerby, and his two beloved Siberian Huskies, Barry Allen and Victor Stone.
