Bio

Shawn graduated from Davison High School in 1993 where he was an All-Conference pitcher. He played for Mott Community College from 1994 to 1996, earning All-Conference honors in 1994. As the team captain in 1994 he led in innings, strikeouts, and wins. He was the last pitcher to throw a no-hitter and threw 3 no-hitters. He graduated from Mott in 1993. He went on to pitch for Saginaw Valley State University. He graduated from SVSU in 1998. During the off-season he also instructs baseball camps.

He is very thankful to have played and coached with some of the best coaches over the years including Tim Rye (currently at Davison High school), John and Ernie Myers (Bears coaches), Walt Head (SVSU), Dan Shelton (SVSU), Dan LaNoue (former Detroit Tiger and Mott coach), Tim Weeks (Mott coach) and Roger Foutch (coach of the Halo-Foutch team). During the year when he is not coaching, Shawn is taking on multiple tasks at the college as a field manager of Kearsley Park, fitness center tech, bus driver, facilities conservator of Mott sports memorabilia, and does various PR work.
